Editorial Review: Product Description: No child likes going to bed and as every parent knows, their little treasures will try and delay it for as long as possible! Discover all the antics children get up to before going to bed, in this hilarious board book, written and illustrated in Boynton's own unique humourous style. The perfect way to read kids to sleep! Amazon.com Review: For a little one who is reluctant to go to bed, sometimes a silly book is just the ticket. And when it comes to silly books, Sandra Boynton is the undisputed queen. In The Going to Bed Book, an ark full of animals watches the sun go down and then prepares for bed. They take a bath ('in one big tub'), find pajamas, brush their teeth, do exercises up on deck (imagine an elephant jumping rope, a moose lifting weights, and a pig doing handstands), and finally say good night. The moon is high. The sea is deep.Boynton's inimitable animal characters have graced the pages of scads of picture books over the years. She has an extraordinary knack for knowing what appeals to small children: simple rhymes, goofy animals in goofy settings, and sweet, comforting stories. This book, along with her many other board-book titles (Moo, Baa, La La La!, But Not the Hippopotamus, and others) will surely remain a favorite. (Baby to preschool) --Emilie Coulter Average Rating:

Rating: - Sure to be a Favorite. This book has proven to be a favorite book to read before bedtime, for both of my children. Perfect to get for a child between ages of 1 and 2. Rating: - Great Bed Time BookMy son loves listening to this book before bed at night. He is now 3 years old, and still loves to read this book along with other longer books, such as Green Eggs and Ham, or Bad Dog Marley. I have read this book to him so many times that I have it memorized " The sun has set not long ago...now everybody goes below...to take a bath in one big tub, with soap all over, scrub, scrub, scrub." It's a great book for bedtime, because in the end of the book all the characters go to bed. Nice way to get ... Will order more of Sandra's silly books in future. Rating: - Wonderful Book, helps with bedtimeMy son received this for his first birthday, and since then it has become as staple at bedtime. It helps to aid the bedtime routine, and the tone of the book is right along with it! |
