Editorial Review: Product Description: #1 New York Times bestselling author and renowned radio and television host Glenn Beck delivers an instant holiday classic IF YOU COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE BY REVERSING YOUR BIGGEST REGRETS, SORROWS, AND MISTAKES...WOULD YOU? When Eddie was twelve years old, all he wanted for Christmas was a bike. Although his life had gotten harder -- and money tighter -- since his father died - Eddie dreamed that somehow his mother would find a way to have his dream bike gleaming beside their modest Christmas tree that magical morning. What he got from her instead was a sweater. 'A stupid, handmade, ugly sweater' that young Eddie left in a crumpled ball in the corner of his room. Scarred deeply by the realization that kids don't always get what they want, and too young to understand that he already owned life's most valuable treasures, that Christmas morning was the beginning of Eddie's dark and painful journey on the road to manhood. It will take wrestling with himself, his faith, and his family -- and the guidance of a mysterious neighbor named Russell -- to help Eddie find his path through the storm clouds of life and finally see the real significance of that simple gift his mother had crafted by hand with love in her heart. Based on a deeply personal true story, The Christmas Sweater is a warm and poignant tale of family, faith, and forgiveness that makes us question whether we really know what's most important in our own lives. ![]() Rating: - Great BookAfter reading in one day, I gave it to my wife and then she gave it to some friends. Everyone who has read it loves it. Rating: - The Christmas SweaterWe purchased "The Christmas Sweater" as a gift for my husband's Boss, and he read the book in one day. Was very impressed , says everyone should read the book. Rating: - The Christmas Sweater by Glenn BeckThis book reminded me of some things that happened in my early life, I grew up on a farm. I just finished reading where it got very sad. I had to stop reading for a while, too many tears! I can't wait to finish it, Glenn said there would be a more cheery area. It is so much like what real life really is about. Rating: - Entertaining but lacking substanceAltough the book was certainly entertaining, I wonder whether those experiences should have had a different effect on Mr. Beck, maybe grow up a little more open minded? a little less rascist? but then again... maybe the novel is not based on his experiences at all, and in that case I give it one more star! Rating: - The Christmas SweaterI was very moved when I read The Christmas Sweater. I listen to Glenn Beck on the radio,on my way to the YMCA on most week days. That is when I heard of the book that he had written. I don't really know if the book is about him, I do suspect that it is though. It was the perfect read for the holidays,as it really brings you to the bare basic meaning of the holiday. |
