Amazon.com Review:
Yogurt is a great, guilt-free snack for both adults and kids. With this yogurt maker, it's easy to add favorite flavors--including exotic and sweet fruits, rich crunchy nuts, and natural sweeteners--to basic yogurt. Just follow the recipes, supplied by the manufacturer, and a nutritious snack, with very little fat and no preservatives (like most commercial brands), is not too far away. Making yogurt takes from 4 to 10 hours to process, depending on desired tartness of the batch. If you're looking for frozen yogurt, you do have to chill it for 2 hours in the freezer before consumption after it's made. The yogurt can be stored up to one week. --Teresa Simanton

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Salton yogurt maker-xmas gift
I purchased this for my daughter. She is really enjoying it. So far she has made two kinds of yogurt and the machine works easily. Clean-up is a breeze. I think if you want to make your own yogurt this is a great little machine.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - it does nothing extra.
I don't like to fail so may be that's why I am challenging myself to make yogurt. I thought this will do the magic, you have to do everything manually before you put the mixture in this machine, how on earth I am going to bring the milk to 100f? put your finger and count to 10 didn't work, how would I know the starter still working. all this machine does is keep it warm, it does not tell when it is ready, doesn't have a thermostat, the cover does not close well, the price is cheap but why buy that ... Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Easy to use, easy to clean, makes excellent yogurt
I don't know why I got rid of the last model of yogurt maker, we were remodeling the kitchen, and I thought I did not need the Salton Yogurt maker.

I was wrong.

I started making yogurt using a quart canning jar and the microwave convection oven as a heat source. I have a microwave convection oven which can be set at 100 degrees F. I used it to make the yogurt. Worked great except the microwave oven was tied up while the yogurt was being made. Also, the constant noise from ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Broke After Only a Few Uses
This product worked wonderfully for the first 10 uses or so. Now it doesn't heat up at all.....

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great! But don't like the plastic container.
I am really excited about this yogurt maker. The only drawback is that container inside where you put the yogurt is plastic (number 5) and with all the health implications coming out these days concerning plastic and endocrine disruptors leaching into your food, I would prefer that they use a glass container. I am actually experimenting with using a glass jar that I found fits inside. I hope it works!
