Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The beginning of the legend
December, 1987. The legendary Mega Man was introduced to the world. The game didn't quite catch on when it first hit the shelves mainly because of the horrible box art, but it wouldn't be long before it did. However it's sequel would be much more successful. Unlike the latter Mega Man games, this game only has 6 robot masters instead of 8. There's no passwords like in Mega Man 2 through Mega Man 6. And the game's a pain in the butt for beginners. But once you figure it out, it won't be that bad. ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Mega Man's first adventure and a pretty good game, if a little rough around the edges
When Capcom released MEGA MAN (or ROCKMAN in Japan), they could have had little idea that they just launched their biggest franchise, nor would it be possible for the buying public to realise this character would go on to become the most prolific game character ever.

His first game, an action platformer from 1987, famously introduced the concept of chosing your own order in which to beat the stages. Not only that, when you defeat the boss of that level, you get his/her powers, and can ... Read More

Guts man it takes about 21 hit to to defeat this or any robot master ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - The Start of a Great Series, but with Frustration
Of all the games of the NES era, Mega Man sticks out in my mind as being the hardest. I didn't expect it to include the things that would later go into the series such as the charge shot, or Rush or anything like that, but when I first played it, I was flabbergasted by it's extreme difficulty. As a kid I thought it was a great game. Now that I'm older, I can look at it with a critical eye and say that it is a good game, but even for an old school gamer, Mega Man is a game that so rightfully needed ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Extremely good
This is a very good game. In mega Man, you play through a group of levels. You can gain the powers of the bosses you defeat. There are many traps throughout the levels that can easily kill you. Each of the levels has a theme such as fire.

The main problems with this game are the traps. You automatically die from the traps.

Other than this minor problem, I recommend that you get this classic game immediately if you do not have the collection for PS2 or GC.
