Editorial Review: Amazon.com Product Description: About the Compact Sport Multi-Plier Multitool Gerber's Compact Sport Multi-Plier can best be described as the lighter, tighter version of Gerber's 600-series multitools -- but it's no less useful and versatile. This ultra-compact workhorse brings together all the functionality and performance of its big brother, with stainless steel hardware and Fiskars scissors that come tough enough to tear through seatbelts. Strong, durable, and easy to use, the Compact Sport boasts one-handed opening pliers and the Saf.T.Plus locking system to keep everything secure when not in operation. Stay safe, and stay ready for anything -- on the road, around the house, at the lake, or in the woods. Multitool Capabilities:
Key Technical Specs:
Warranty: Gerber Legendary Blades guarantees this product with a limited lifetime warranty. What's in the box: Gerber Compact Sport Multi-Pliers multitool and nylon sheath. Gerber's History of Ingenuity Savvy. Moxie. Craftsmanship. Attention to detail. These are just a few of the company traits that contributed to Gerber's emergence as a world leader in outdoor gear. Joseph Gerber started Portland, Oregon's Gerber Advertising back in 1910, and one Christmas, he hired a local knife-maker to craft 25 sets of kitchen cutlery as client gifts. The knives were so popular, Mr. Gerber ultimately left his agency to launch Gerber Legendary Blades in 1939. It makes sense, really. An idea man gets the idea of a lifetime and turns it into a major outdoor brand -- one that commands respect among knife-lovers and knife-makers alike. And now that same high regard is spreading in new directions, in the form of many outstanding products such as tools, personal L.E.D. lighting, and backpack hydration. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Gerberr OneThere is no other utility knife maker besides Gerber. Not Leatherman, or the Wal-MArt special. They are not that exspensive, and they do what they are supposed to do, and more. There is no substitute or replacement. Rating: - Best in classI have bought a few types of this product (victorinox probably being the fanciest and I also went to stores and tried different models). The Gerber blows away any plier I have ever used. Everytime I use this, I still tell myself "I cant believe they sell this so cheap." I have given many as a present to guys who would use something like this all the time, and they give me the best thanks you can get: I catch them carrying it with them or using it. Biggest pluses: * ... Read More Rating: - Solid and Versatile - Highly RecommendedThe "Gerber MP400" is a very well made multi-tool with an innovative design and practical tools. This somewhat compact multi-tool is one of the handiest things to come my way in a long time. The pliers can be deployed one-handed, which is very useful when working in tight quarters. I really like the locking feature for the other tools in the handle (one of my main reasons for buying this model). This is a fairly expensive multi-tool, but it does go on sale occasionally. Read More Rating: - I love this multitoolI had this knife for a little over a year. I was in the Boy Scouts (I have since left for college and can't really make the meetings, since they're two hours away from my dorm...) and this was incredibly useful at all of our different outings. I personally like how the tool opens at the flick of your wrist, and once you close it, it stays closed until you want it open. I have a similar tool that won't stay closed or completely open, either. I say "had" because two years ago, it was stolen ... Read More Rating: - Quality not as good as beforeI have had one of these for several years, and I love it. However, this one I just received was a complete disappointment. The jaw had interference when closing it, at the wire cutter area. Also, it felt very gritty, like it was tossed around in fine dirt. I also think the case is too big - bigger than the one I currently have (and it's the same model). Unfortunately, I had to return it for a refund. Gerber, what happened to your quality? |
