The first half, however, is 'Bongo,' the story of a addlepated circus bear. 'Bongo' is more poky and interest-free. Rating: - disney- fun and fancy freei bought this for the grandkids but loved it myself. it's really a great dvd and the kid's watch it over and over. i would recommend this if you like disney. Rating:  - Do your homework!I am still watching the laserdisc version of this film, so I cannot comment on the quality of the "restored" DVD. I intend to up-date to DVD shortly, if the DVD includes the short, historical "making of" that is on the laserdisc. It is a short, but fascinating look at the Disney Studios in 1947 and contains some brief, but previously unseen footage of Walt, himself, from that time. Read More Rating:  - Splice out the Edgar Bergan interruptions and reissue the film!Maybe he was popular at the time, but the narration interruptions by Edgar Bergan and his scary puppets are horribly annoying. My 3 year old kids can't watch this video because they start screaming that the TV is broken every time the video cuts from the animated story to the live action black and white footage of Edgar bergan explaining the story to his evil-looking puppets and annoying child actor assistant. By the same token they can't stand the stupid puppet sequences in Caillou videos (which ... I bought the DVD for the "Mickey and the Beanstalk" segment, which I had on VHS. Even that featurette could have been improved, however. I found the intrusions in the narrative by Edgar Bergen and the children to be annoying. If they had only been seen at the beginning and end, that would have been alright.
