A floating cutter trims long hairs, and then a thin platinum foil follows along to shave close to the skin. Push a button and the cutter retracts for shaving with the foil alone. Push the button again, and up pops a trimmer for mustache and sideburns. The shaver works worldwide on 110- to 240-volt systems and can be recharged by a 12-volt car or boat battery. It recharges fully in one hour for 30 minutes of shaving time. A green light signals when charging is underway.
