Editorial Review: Product Description: Panasonic SD-YD250 Automatic Bread Baker with Yeast Pro offers you the ability of having delicious bread, freshly prepared and baked right at home, with virtually no fuss or bother. Just place the ingredients in to the SD-YD250 and it does everything else. Non-stick heavy duty pan Temperature safety fuse 10 minute power interruption protection maintains operation for up to 10 minutes in case of possible power failure Color - WHITE Amazon.com Review: Providing myriad options, this automatic bread maker embodies the marvels of 21st century electronic convenience and choice. Yes, it mixes, kneads, rises, and bakes bread in three loaf sizes up to 2-1/2 pounds. But its digital controls go much further, offering settings for white, whole wheat, multigrain, and French (crisp crust, open texture) breads, each made according to what's best for that particular style. Other settings permit rapid baking and baking sandwich bread with a soft crust. For raisin (or other dried-fruit) bread, a beeper signals when to add the fruit so it's not crushed during kneading. Crust color--dark or light--can be selected as well. The machine automatically adds yeast at the proper time from a dispenser on the unit's lid. It also bakes non-yeast, quick breads-- like banana and gingerbread--and sweet cakes. And it mixes, kneads, and rises doughs for pizza, focaccia, croissants, and other pastries without baking them. A timer permits the machine to be programmed up to 13 hours in advance so fresh bread or cake is available for breakfast or dinner. For cleanup convenience, the baking pan is nonstick. Clad in metal and packing 550 watts of power, the machine measures 14 inches wide, 13.5 inches high, and 9 inches deep. Its instruction booklet is exceptionally easy to understand and includes recipes for 40 breads and doughs along with an insightful guide to baking basics and illustrated tips for making pastries. --Fred Brack Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Great choiceThis was my first attempt at making bread and never really thought it would succeed but now I call myself the best baker in town. I own the machine for about 1 month now. The machine is easy to use as long as you stick to the instructions which are as easy as saying 1,2,3 u will do good. Already tried about 6-7 varieties of bread all had happy endings. the if at all cons are it takes about 4 hours to bake and is a bit noisy during the kneading cycle. But overall a great machine which gives fantastic ... Read More Rating: - Fresh bread in the morning. Love it.Great breadmaker. Works well. I especially love that my husband loves it. It's like fresh bread just magically appears every week. A few notes. Our first breadmaker Amazon shipped us was cracked because they just threw the breadmaker box into a box twice the size with no packing. Be sure to check yours as soon as it arrives. Fortunately, Amazon has a great returns policy. Also, the lid doesn't lock down. This is something of an issue for us because we have ravenous cats that get into everything. This ... Our old machine is 12 yrs old and the motor is starting to make funny noises, though it still runs, so my husband thought we needed a new one and chose this Panasonic based on several good reviews. I tried 4 different recipes in the book that came with it, to try out the different operating modes ... basic, whole wheat, pizza dough, and rapid. The 3 that were baked were burned on the bottom half of the loaf and scorched on the bottom, even ... Read More Rating: - The Hobo PhilosopherWe bought our first Panasonic bread maker ten or fifteen years ago. It is still going strong. We have tried other bread makers but they don't work. We were afraid our original Panasonic would die on us. So we bought this new one. Now we have two bread makers. The new model is slightly different than our old one - but it works just as well. Using bread flour seems to be one of the secrets. We figure that we are saving around $1.50 to $2.00 on every loaf of bread. And this new machine cost less than half the ... Read More Rating: - Dense Bread BurnerI WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. I bought this for my girlfriend for Christmas. We have used it three times so far trying a variety of different whole wheat type loaves, so far all three have failed to rise properly and have been burnt. We have use other bread makers in the past, and have never had this consistent of a problem. We have tried cutting the expensive new whole wheat flour with unbleached regular flour. We have always use new yeast, but to no avail it seems to always come out extremely ... Read More |
