Amazon.com:
Cantankerous home shopping network producer Lucy (Whoopi Goldberg) inadvertently hires the real Santa Claus (Nigel Hawthorne) for her channel's 'Kristmas Korner' sales campaign in this made-for-TV movie. But Santa's presence there is anything but accidental, as his 200-year contract is about to expire and he must convince Lucy to take over the reigns both figuratively and literally. What's at stake? Not just Christmas, but the fate of the planet in this holiday offering, executive-produced by Goldberg and Garth Brooks.

Goldberg does her dreadlocked Santa thing, and Brooks sings such classics as 'Sleigh Ride,' 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,' and Louis Armstrong's signature 'Zat You, Santa Claus?' While its message of diversity is generally handled in a low-key fashion, the 90-minute film directly deals with the issue of a black (and female) Kris Kringle with an excerpt from B.J. Wrights's poem 'Can Santa Be Black?' This congenial film is appropriate for ages 7 and up. --Kimberly Heinrichs

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Christmas story Whoopi style
I saw this on tv and had to buy it. Whoopi is unique and brings that magic to Santa. I'm going to watch it every year. She's adorable in this L.A. Christmas story.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - X-Mas Video
Cute version of the Scrooge X-Mas story, especially if you are a Whoopi Goldberg fan.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Call Me Claus
This is an ok little DVD with Whoopie. I have other DVD's with Whoopie that I like better. The Associate, Jumpin Jack Flash are two that I have that I prefer over Call Me Claus.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Call Me Claus DVD
Whoopi Goldberg adds a new twist to a Santa Claus story that is not only entertaining but well acted. Excellent addition for anyone who has a Christmas movie collection.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - This is how a fun Christmas movie should be done
This is the right way to do a Christmas movie - it's clever, it's fantastic and it isn't afraid to let the real reason for the season be a part of the joy. Anyone who likes to giggle at a movie while wrapping gifts or sing along with kids at Christmas while setting out the nativity will enjoy this movie. The casting is perfect, by the way.
