My laptop went online immediately, but the work horse, my desk top, kept loosing the signal (both OS is Vista). The Verizon tech finally said that he couldn't determine why the weak signal. My wifi card was a Belkin (good products), but for some reason it couldn't hold the signal. I was dropping off line constantly. For three frustrating weeks I tried everything. I switched to other cards that were loaned to me, setup and re-setup, ... It was easy to install on my Dell Computer. I called my cable carrier first to help me set it up. They could not help me she confused me more than if I tried on my own. After being on the phone with her for about an hour she said she could not help me. Then I called tech support at TRENDnet and they helped me with the set up. Now it is running right and I have not had any trouble at all. TRENDnet TEW-423PI 54Mbps Wireless G PCI Adapter Rating: - Either DOA or has driver issues - I sent this baby packing!I needed a wireless adapter fairly fast and wanted to keep the price low - so I turned to Amazon and went with this model. What a dissapointment! Now I know computers - I have a degree in this field for pity sakes, so I know what I am doing when installing an item like this. Regardless, it never worked. Troubleshooting was useless. Thankfully Amazon handled the return quickly. Thumbs up for Amazon - thumbs down for Trendnet. Rating: - good dealI have just return my linksys adapter and change to this one, and it turns out no big difference in performance. But the prices have huge difference. |
