It's compact and is very creatively organized. Her only complaint is the top riming is coming apart a little bit, but it is still perfectly functional and still snaps back in. The amount of food this holds is perfect for an 8 hour day at the office. The bottom two containers do keep things warm for several hours, but the items that you put in should be hot, right out of the microwave, stove, etc. You can figure the cold stuff staying cool and the hot stuff staying warm for 3 to 4 hours. I find that you can put extra things in the space when you do not use the soup bowl.
