Conventional removers contain oils and emollients that hinder our nail polishs binding properties. Why? Because, water and oil do not mix. Conventional removers contain oils and emollients to compensate for the extreme drying of Acetone or other harsh solvents. Any residue from products containing oils will hinder Acquarella nail polish and conditioner from adhering to the nail. Note: Acquarella Remover is for Acquarella nail polish and conditioner only. I purchased Lil Dippers which are wearable tip soakers and filled each with Acquarella remover. I put them on and let them sit for about 5 minutes. As I remove one I just switch it to the other hand and then using a clean gauze dipped in some more remover, 1-2-3 and it's off.
