Otherwise it works pretty much as directed by boiling water under the tray and protecting the eggs from direct microwave cooking by shielding them with an Aluminum top and tray. The shipping carton was in perfect condition but the item inside had been crushed before it was packed. Amazon charged me more for shipping than the product cost and shipped me a crushed egg boiler. The eggs were perfect-none of that dark color you get around the yolk when you boil them too long , and no undone area in the yolk.
