Fortunately we opened it a month before Christmas and found out that the CD player can't read any CD's, the microphone doesn't work, and there is a loud humming noise coming from the speakers when it is turned on. It was great fun for the party and we used it maybe twice after that, but it no longer works at all (can no longer read the discs). I contacted the company and they offered suggestions, none of which solved the problem. The warranty period was a measly 6 months, which they must have determined was about as long as the product is likely to last without incident. I would not recommend this karaoke machine.
