The set includes two 12-ounce oval casseroles with fitted lids for covered cooking. The petite size of the casserole best accommodates a meal for one or a side dish, like baked beans. The casseroles feature durable cast-iron construction. The attributes of cast-iron construction include unmatched durability against warping and breakage, superb heat retention, and even heat distribution. Porcelain enamel coats the cast-iron casseroles to eliminate the need for pre-seasoning on the interiors, which other cast-iron cookware requires. This construction also allows the casseroles to adapt for stovetop-to-oven-to-table use. To transport contents to and fro, each casserole is cast with two loop-style handles. Fitted cast-iron lids contain flavor and heat within the casseroles. Each lid provides a top-mounted knob for easy removal. For the best care, allow casseroles to cool before washing by hand.  Rating:  - Mini CasserolesI love my Mini Casseroles. I now enjoy cooking for one! It did take me a long time trying to get the package open since it was glued really good but once that was finished the product worked great. Rating:  - Disappointed!!!!I am very disappointed in the size of these. Must be for children!! The price is outrageous, too!! I received the blue and it is a very nice color. Rating: - Cute as can be!These are "mini-me" sized covered casseroles. A French person might call one a mini Doufeu, as it has the central indentation on the lid on which one could put mini ice cubes. The small interior measures 4 3/4" by up to 3 1/4" wide, and a shallow 1 3/4" in depth. They are enamel over cast iron, similar to Le Creuset in appearance, however don't expect to put more than, say 7-8 ounces of food in one, to keep the food from bubbling over and creating a real mess.
