 Rating:  - heavy duty hole makerI bought this to drill holes into my heavy clay soil to drop in tree food spikes for my trees. So I'm going through grass/sod, roots, and the occasional thumb sized rock. Once the top grass/sod is out of the way (all augers I've owned have trouble with this) it drives deep and cuts through the roots. Works pretty well. The bevel on the drill end is pretty minor - almost non-existant. And there's only one bevel, so you'll have to tighten the chuck pretty well -exactly ... There is abig diference in theirs compared with the less expensive others sold on Amazon and hardware stores. The difference is the cutting edge. It is made of much heavier steel.
