Editorial Review: Product Description: In the case of Onkyo A/V receivers, ?entry level? means a whole lot more than just affordability and standard functionality. You won't find a better example than the TX-SR506, which also offers high-definition media capability and advanced sound correction technologies. With an HDMI platform handling 1080p video from three sources, the TX-SR506 brings polish and peak performance to high-definition displays and sources. Legendary Onkyo amplification drive and power set the foundation for delivering bass crunch and vocal clarity. The TX-SR506 uses Audyssey 2EQ to counter distortion created by walls, furniture and other objects. This technology detects speaker distance, and then sets levels, delays, and crossovers, while also measuring room acoustics and you get to enjoy a sweeping soundstage even at low volumes. Easily holding its own among higher-priced A/V receivers, the TX-SR506 adds serious impetus to entry-level home theater. ![]() Rating: - Great Entry Level UnitI bought this for the bedroom. My wife wanted something to play music, and I figured I might as well install a 5.1 system. You can't be Onkyo when it comes to "bang for your buck". If you don't attend to add a bluray, this is the unit to buy. Rating: - Onkyo Receiver 506A good choice for my home entertainment center. Zone B or 2 takes a bit of time to get sound and is only analog. The zone A fiber optics digital sound is superb. It's a lot of receiver for the buck. The price is right. Rating: - Good basic receiverThis is a good basic A/V receiver. I got this for my computer to drive the 7.1 speakers I already had. I'm strictly using it for amplification so I'm not concerned with the lack of audio through HDMI. Audessy is a nice plus for easy setup. I would definitely recommend this receiver as long as it is not a center piece for a home theater setup with HDMI. Rating: - unabble to use center channel speaker with this producxti am unhappy with this product. i have been unable to use the center channel for center channel speaker. i have tried everything. new wiring, new product. new speaker this center position does not work. the speakers work well. i have sony b3000 speakers connected. they work fine.sorry that this review takes a negative view. i am still under warranty. i am probably sending it back. i wonder if anybody has some suggestions? Rating: - Excellent choice at a low priceInstalling the product is extremely easy, thanks also to stickers to name each cable or device linked to the receiver (simple but great idea). Output level is far above the receiver I had before (Aiwa) which makes my JBL set sound terrific. Remote control is complete, however is good to take a look at the instruction manual as some of the commands are not so intuitive. I was also able to pair some of the devices I have into the remote control, but not all of them... (a DVD from ... Read More |
