 Rating:  - GU is my preferenceMy wife and I run and bike; for the longer training runs (and rides) we like to take some energy gel with us, essentially to keep us fueled up and to avoid bonking. She prefers Hammer energy gel, I prefer GU. Works best if you drink a lot of water during the workout. Rating: - best energy gel on the marketThis is the best-tasting, most effective energy gel that I have found to date. The Tri-Berry actually tastes really great, and the caffeine is great to keep you going. I have found that if I take 1/2 packet at a time it is just enough to give me a burst of energy but not let me crash. I use them for 10 miles or more, generally about every 5 miles thereafter. Rating: - GU is not Gene Upshaw BUT....I had absolutely no intention of buying any GU Energy Gel the day I signed on to look up what all the GU emblems stood for on the football helmets and football fields. Well now I know that it was in honor of hall of famer Gene Upshaw who passed away in August. But I also found this stuff, read about it, read the reviews and ordered some. It is GREAT...what an unexpected discovery! It tastes good and it actually DOES give me a burst without drinking a lot of coffee and having to pee! LOVE IT!!
