Rating:  - I love it!!!!!I purchased this to go with a 50 inch plasma TV for a home theater system. I am very pleased with the purchase from Amazon, with delivery and with the system itself. It sounds great!! Rating: - Great systemIf you know what you are buying then this system will make you very happy. Many people on here complain about things that are in black and white before hand: read the system specs carefully and this won't happen. Now about the system itself. I am coming from a 10 year old Kenwood system. This Yamaha system has a better overall sound and more modern features. The Kenwood system cost me $800 plus. This one was much cheaper. I love the sound of the speakers. Although they will not blow the roof off, they are clean and clear at various volume levels. The subwoofer hits nicely. The speakers are small enough to not be obnoxious. This system has 1080p passthrough for video. So if you already have an upconverting DVD player or Blu-ray player this will work fine. I have all of my audio/video hooked up and it is a very convenient control center. I have my ATT Uverse, upconverting DVD player, and Wii all connected to it. The digital sound that comes from this Yamaha is truly awesome and I feel like I am watching movies for the first time. I highly reccomend this if you are in the price range. It can't be beat for overall value. You certainly won't find something this good in retail stores at this price; or online for that matter. I have looked. Rating:  - Bad seller. Bad.Since it has not been delivered yet (16 days from order) I'm giving it a single star. The seller ships late and requires signature on delivery even though it's less than the $400 that triggers Amazon to signature verify. Save yourself the trouble, buy it from a real store, not Amazon. Rating: - One happy manWhat a sweet, sweet system! I couldn't be any happier with this purchase and would highly recommend the system to others. Rating:  - Good sound but a few consThis system sounds good and has many features, too many in fact. It would be nice to lose a few of the extra features and put in some essentials like: microphone and automatic balance feature instead of trying to do it by ear (major pain in the ...), it would also be nice if it actually used the audio from the HDMI inputs so you can just connect one cable instead of also having to connect a digital coax / fiber optic, it would cost next to nothing to include heavier gauge speaker wire (and why do they strip and tin the two ends, its one cable that you have to cut and strip to install anyway so you will mostly have untinned ends), since the woofer is self powered and has a seperate power switch on the back it would be nice if the receiver had a switched supply output to plug it into, the front speakers should have hangers on the back like the back so they are ready to hang, and the center speaker should have more than just velcro to mount (hello, you can't velcro it to the top of an LCD like you could with an old CRT TV), a phono preamp would be nice too. |
